Fundraising Reception by Mayor Kathy Whitmire

Former Mayor Kathy Whitmire held a fundraiser for Annise Parker at Tony's on Thursday evening. Whitmire mingled through a well attended event and explained why she supports Annise. "I support Annise because she has the values to recognize what this city needs and fiscal responsibility which have been proven in her time as the City Controller to take this city through tough economic times. She is ready to lead Houston to new heights and I look forward to seeing her as Houston's next mayor." At the end of the speeches, Johnny Peden, proud supporter, presented Kathy and Annise a framed Houston Chronicle front page story when Kathy was elected. Laughter erupted in the room as everyone read the headline, "Whitmire Stampedes Heard."- noting how there could be a similar headline on Wednesday's paper!

Garden Oaks Wine Walk

I enjoyed the outdoors meeting the Garden Oaks Wine Walk participants. They had lots of questions about my vision for a cleaner, greener, safer and stronger Houston. Women Professionals in Government Summer Social

Annise enjoyed herself with colleagues and friends at an event held at the stunning Weiss President's House at Rice University for an organization that she holds dear.
