Green Practices are Good Economics

Houston has again won kudos for our efforts to make the city more “green.”
Governing Magazine touts Houston’s “Green Revolution,” discussing our LEED-certified buildings and purchasing of wind energy and electric vehicles. They point out that our Energy Star-certified buildings saved the city $62.9 million in 2010, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
The article uses a quote that I’ve often made: that reducing energy use and carbon emissions is “good economics.”
